The Brief

"You will bring together a collection of 100-250 images in response to a theme, sourced and curated from existing imagery. Your archive will then be presented as a website."

The Concept

This project features a collection of documentary photographs and artworks showcasing female solidarity in domestic settings. Unlike traditional portrayals of women in the domestic sphere, which often objectify and diminish them, this collection depicts a different perspective from the female gaze. It challenges the dominant male gaze and seeks to highlight the emotions, intimacy, labour, and unity shared by women at home.

By focusing on female solidarity, this collection celebrates the strength and resilience of women within domestic spaces. It offers a reparative reading that encourages a deeper understanding of the shared experiences and bonds amongst women in a domestic environment.
